I could try that. There is not a huge number of houses for sale in this area in this price bracket, but it is worth a try.
Lots of work done this morning. More hay bought and collected, field poo picked, hay store cleared out and two tons of baling twine disposed of.
Plops was hungry as there is very little grass still.0 -
Changing agent makes you a new listing.....MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

We did that in Feb. I guess we could do it again.
Any recommendations?0 -
If it's incomers you think will buy the house, they may not have a specific location in mind.
When we were looking, I searched within a 50 miles radius south and west of my work so the search captured thousands of homes.
Searching for 4 beds in Devon only between £300K and £425K brings up over 600 houses, being near the top and appearing in people's search alerts might bring some more interest.
Re estate agents, as your house seems to be quite unique I would avoid the Haart / Connells types and try and find an agent who deals with rural / niche properties maybe. Sorry if you've already tried this!0 -
Mum changed from a chain agent to an independent and found them a lot more helpful, but that doesn't necessarily follow. Whitewashing the inside and new carpets downstairs led to more viewings, but I don't think it made a difference price wise. Sorry I can't be more helpMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Fair point, Kate.
We have been with 1. Local high street 2. Local rural 3. Online agent.
Does it make a difference about the agent with rightmove?
The first was the only one that brought any viewers and that was at 20k more than now.0 -
Well I have done 2/3 work tasks.
I feel really strongly that I just need to be better at EVERYTHING.0 -
Haha, know the feeling. I think you do well enough though, Smallholding. You always seem to be ridiculously busy.2018 totals:

Thanks Alex. Not sure what I ever ACHIEVE though.
£100 went west today in diesel and pony wormer.
I guess I have added value through having a meeting in my lunch break and going through some calculations with a student after school.
Despite this and getting diesel/picking up the wormer and making curry I am home earlier than usual and before everyone else.0 -
Smallholding, you're a teacher. Frankly, you achieve something amazing every single day when one of your pupils learns something new.
Money means very little compared to the potential to change somebody's outcome in life.
