Personal video (sextape) on !!!!!! website

Options
First of all I am sorry if this is the wrong section for this thread, please move to correct location.

Now my friend just told me her ex had made a sex tape of her. And when you search her name in Google, it appears on many !!!!!! websites.

Her family has abandoned her, her husband has left her, she is living with her friend at the moment. Her life is very disturbed.

Off course, this has made her very stressed and panic. She asked me how can she get these removed. And I am asking here. As I don't really know myself either.

I have sent emails to the websites (using their contact page) and providing them links and asked to please remove the video as they were uploaded without consent.
Haven't received any confirmation of the messages.
What else can be done ?

Also please note, these websites are not operating from/within the UK but from Netherlands, Belgium and some other European countries.
And victim also doesn't live in UK and she trusts me and knows I am somewhat good with computers and could help her, that is why she has asked me.

I am not good with something which is not in my control.
I have assured her, I will do everything to help her out and asked her to stay calm.
As mentioned above she is not from UK, but she is from one the countries where they kill for honor (terrible and sad in this day and age) I do not want anything to happen to her.

This has also made me worry and stress. And asked her not to let anyone know where you at for the moment until everything is sorted.

Could you please help as what else can be done to get these removed.
On one of the !!!!!! site it says "we have no control over the contents, you have to take care of your freedom yourself, we do not hold any content".
I did not get that part, meaning they don't own the content and will not delete ?

No such thing on other popular sites.

Thanks for help in advance. And sorry for the long post.

Once it's out there, there is no way you're going to get it removed from the www.

I thought there was some new law about this, I'm sure someone will be along to quote it shortly, the ex. could be in big trouble (if she reports it)

ETA: It is illegal. Search: revenge !!!!!! or online harassment

    clicky

    This charmer got jailed

    Thanks.
I am hope someone comes and give little more info.

Yes I agree, once something is out on internet it's out. This is why I am finding it hard. Where to start etc.

The thing is we don't know where the ex has moved. According to sites video was uploaded 2 years ago.
And my friend just found out and have no contact, social, or mutual friends with ex.

I have emailed all the sites and asked them to please remove the video as it was uploaded without consent.

    Lets see.
This reminds me movie "Sex Tape", they were able to get their video removed by just asking the websites (in the end with different twists).

    Thanks

'Revenge !!!!!!' is illegal in increasing numbers of countries
She can contact Google and Bing and other search engines to get her name delisted in countries where it is a legal requirement - it's imperfect but people do get stuff removed fro searches.

Removed from searches is probably as good as it'll get though.

BTW her ex is a first rate !!!! and deserves a good kicking.

how old is she? If she looks fairly young, i'd tell the website owners that she is underage. Might improve the chances of getting it removed (at least temporarily)

Does she have any large friends who could go to the ex's home and (peacefully) convince him of the error of his ways and to delete the content himself?

    Make a criminal complaint
Get google to delist the content
Getting individual websites to remove content will be harder, you'll need to hire a solicitor to contact them and potentially take them to court.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

    A little update.
I have received email back from one of the website, they have agreed to remove video from their website and all their sister sites.
Now it appears that they have actually removed video from 9 websites.
Only 2 websites are still showing.
Hopefully they will do the same.

But it still shows under Google and Bing searches, do you guys have a link to get these searches removed from the search provider.
As they are too big institutes don't really know how to contact them.

She is not an underage, she is in her late twenties.

Also we don't know her ex whereabouts.

But so far these websites have cooperated.
Video only listed on 2 of them.
I hope nobody made copies of the video just to add them at later date.

I have actually managed to remove video from individual sites.
I was surprised that they actually listened.
Sent email to 4 sites, and they replied they have removed video from theirs and sister websites. So in total they removed video from 9 sites.
