Solar panels

Hello all,

I have a question for any solar panel experts or users alike?

I am looking to get a kit installed on my 3 bedroomed house, 4 people living there. I have done some research and have found what are considered the best panels.

It would seem Kyocera and Grape Solar are the best panels on the market there are some others, however can I find kits for systems in the UK now way!! All I seem to be able to find are panels to pay, in the USA they sell kits for these systems. Our roof is flat does anyone have any advice, reviews or recommendations?

Thanks

I suggest that you re-post in the Green and Ethical Forum. Are you talking about self-install? If so, this link might be helpful:

Here's a source for some kits if you want. However, if you buy them you'll be paying 20% VAT, whereas if bought by an installer as part of a MCS accredited install, the VAT rate is 5%.

Also, in case you don't know, the install has to be MCS accredited for you to receive the FiT subsidy.

As suggested pop over to the G&E board for a chat. The PV FAQ is on the G&E board if you're interested.

Hiya Matt, I've PM'd you back.

Best suggestion though as Hengus said earlier, start a new thread and ask for advice on the G&E board. Any knowledge advantage I had (if I ever had one) has now been lost to all the other PV'ers, who will give you a group knowledge response, and also suggest local installers, which I can't do as mine went bust years ago. :(
