68mph on temporary 50mph M1 Northamtonshire

As the titled says I got the letter saying that. I declared that I was the driver when the post arrived and have sent it back.

Any rough idea what will I be facing now?

I have a feeling may be 3 points and fines.

Any thought would be appreciated.

Pretty much the entire length of the M1 is 50 mph at the moment. How did you even get up to that speed?

I feel your sense of emptiness very strongly.

  • Hopefully, the standard 3 points only plus fine.

However @ 36% (if my maths is right) they might take it further, so for goodness sake don't trip any more cameras in the meantime.

I use the M1 almost every day in that section, as said amazing you managed to get 68mph between two average speed cameras, i suspected the system was working properly as you only see the odd one going through way over the limit.

In a 50, anything below 76 should offered a fixed penalty ( and a SAC if below 65).
  • Ok. I got the letter. I am paying 100£ fines and 3 points.

Sorry, I thought it was for dramatic effect.

Did they not offer you a speed awareness course?

See post #6 for the reason a SAC would not be offered.
