Advice needed on declaring something to landlord??

Good evening all,
I'm thinking of private renting and I work as a carer offering respite care for my brother in my home. My brother is disabled but does not require and machines or special equipment, he is not violent or troublesome, he's lovely.
He stays for 3/4 nights once every 3 weeks and I am paid a wage by the council.
Is this something a landlord would not be keen on?
We are desperate to move to a bigger property but we really hope this won't go against us
We both work and are not on benefits, we would not be exceeding occupancy and can pay the rent easily.
Thank you for any help

Wouldn't worry me in the slightest. I'd be more thinking stable tenant, likely to stay, responsible, can afford the rent. Oh, and nice.
Therefore, I wouldn't have to even consider the fact that discriminating on grounds of disability - if proven - would bring a World of pain to another ll.
Anyway, as a rare guest, which is what he is, I'd suggest you consider not even mentioning it.
Edit. Mention it! Do. A ll who would welcome you is worth having. One who would reject is worth avoiding, especially since their prejudice might cause you & bro grief once you are in, whatever the law might say in your favour.0 -
At that duration/frequency he would simply be a visitor. Don't see why it would even need to be mentioned.0

I wouldn't even mention this to a potential landlord. This is a guest. If your brother were a tenant, it would anyhow be illegal for a landlord to discriminate based on disability."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

Thank you Dafty
we really want the house, I'm just thinking, as I'm getting paid to look after him will this be a problem? Thank you so much for your helpful reply x 0 -

Thank you for your reply, I feel much better about it.I wouldn't even mention this to a potential landlord. This is a guest. If your brother were a tenant, it would anyhow be illegal for a landlord to discriminate based on disability.
Thank you
the only thing worrying me is that I'm getting paid to look after him at the house. 0 -

Disability needs not come into this.
Standard tenancy agreements forbid sharing or parting with possession.
Being a 'tenant' obviously requires the landlord's agreement, by the way.0 -

Where do I stand jjlandlord? Is he classed as a tenant even though it's 3/4 nights every 3 weeks? Thank you
Oh and he doesn't pay me anything, he lives with mum.0 -

Obviously not, as said.
You can tell the landlord in advance, or keep quiet.
If or when he finds out he may be fine or p*ssed. If he is not happy he may evict.
These are all the options. No-one can tell you what will or won't happen.
A priori it should be fine, however people are unpredictable.0 -

They won't be a tenant unless they are on the tenancy agreement. They are a guest."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Thank you jjlandlord will have a think. I'll probably tell him, don't want it hanging over me.0
