Idiot guide to sending a video?? SOLVED

:jSo I have a new camera which takes movies, great. But how can I send these by email to friends and family? I can't reduce the size with photoshop which is what i use for pics.

Problem is the files, as you know, get pretty huge quickly, even if transcoded to higher compression formats.

Well dropbox takes forever, over an hour to put a 2min. video on!!!!!!!!!

But that's due to the limitations of your broadband connection, which is probably 1 mbps for uploads, and would be the same whatever method you use. The only way to reduce the time is to make the files smaller, perhaps try to convert the video to a format that has smaller files. What file type is it at the moment? You could try converting to .flv, and suggest to your viewers that they download VLC to view them.

The file is MP4, yes I would like to reduce the size same as I do pics on Photoshop. I use an old Macbook, so what is best to reduce it? I and the recipients use VLC.
I did say I needed an idiots guide!

Ok, worked it out now, quite easy using iMovie!
