Experian credit report - Amex missing

Hi,

I reactivated my Experian account to check my credit score. However my amex card is missing from the report.

Does this mean that I can't trust my credit report? Why is a card that i've held for about 6 months missing from the file?

David

Maybe they don't report to experian. Maybe they report to equifax or call credit? Have you checked those?

They report to all three agencies, so it is a bit bizarre.

    Is the account very old?
  • I used the Experian account for the first time in March 2014 and cancelled after getting the report. I reactivated the account again last Friday and checked again this morning and the Amex card isn't showing. I'm at the same address as I was when I first checked my credit score and I applied for the Amex card at this address as well.

Lenders normally report monthly, unless you haven't used the card for some time, so I think you will just need to use the card and then wait for at least a month after you get the statement showing the transaction.

  • My Amex charge card doesn't appear under Credit Cards on my Equifax report; it shows under another section (obviously it isn't a credit card). If you have a charge card check elsewhere on the report. It is reported on all three but I can't recall where it shows on the Experian report.
