What am I entitled to?

Hope you can help me. I'm disabled due to M.S. and have never worked since disability. I've claimed IS for 11 years and DLA for 12 years. I moving in with my partner who earns £15,000 a year. I know I'll lose my IS, but can I claim IB or any other benefit since my DLA doesn't count (I'm in high rate care/mobility).

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

You won't be entitled to IB as you've not paid sufficient National Insurance ContributionsI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

Do I receive national insurance credits with my income support?. I'm confused and cannot see how I'm supposed to live on my DLA, which I pay my carers out of.0

You would only get incapacity credits if you have an IB claim. This would be called a 'Credits Only' claim, as you have said that you have never worked.
Ask your JCP Benefit Centre if you have a 'Credits Only' claim- if not- make an IB claim- to get future credits for possible future benefits- eg Retirement Pension.
For Carers Allowance (CA) to be paid to a carer, a carer must earn less than £86 pw. If your partner is now your carer, on £15K they would not get CA.
Sorry- only you and your partner can decide how you would be supported when you move in together. Sorry again, and not wishing to upset you or being blunt- but together means together.0 -
My partner doesn't care for me, and I never worked because my MS started when I was 15 and I've been in a wheelchair for 11 years.0

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
