Soundproofing tips for semi-detached house?

Having terrible problems with noise from our new neighbours. Playing with toddlers at 7am, loud shouting voices, crying, banging etc.... Not the the types who would accept a friendly chat about it either.
Any tips for soundproofing? Such as material, wallpapers or other ways.
Having been up in the attic, I see there are some gaps in the breezeblocks between us and next door, so could put some insulation in them and then some plasterboard over maybe? But then to the house walls...
But these old 60s/70s houses do have thin party walls, after looking on the web it seems new builds have thicker walls with better soundproofing qualities due to building regs.
At the point where we are thinking of moving, any tips welcome.

You could dry line the walls facing your neighbour? Insulated plasterboard is an option.you will lose a little space depending on what thickness you go for.but its fairly quick,if you do a good enough job, scrim tape the joins, easi fill over the top over the joins in stages you will have a finish that can be painted over. Consider bookshelves cupboards etc all against the party wall tooEven a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0
