YOUR local Guardian has teamed up with The Football Academy, a new state-of-the-art sports and leisure facility in Loughton to offer readers the chance to win one of ten places on a forthcoming three-day soccer school at the venue.
Spurs and England goalkeeper, Paul Robinson, will officially open The Football Academy on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.
It marks the arrival of an 18 acre site, which offers ten floodlit five-a-side football courts, two full-sized grass football pitches, top level academy coaching led by former West Ham midfielder John Moncur, and a fully-equipped fitness centre and boxing gym.
London's newest football destination, The Football Academy is holding a three-day youth soccer school starting on August 29, and despite 120 places having already been booked we've been fortunate enough to get hold of the final ten places on the course.
The soccer school is open to all children between the ages of eight to 13 and will include soccer skills, penalty shoot outs, five-a-side games, tournaments and use of The Football Academy's exciting Football Village.
This will all help youngsters improve their game under the guidance of fully FA qualified coaches.
Children will have lots of fun with trophies and prizes to be won and everyone that attends will receive a certificate of excellence.
Meanwhile for our older readers, there is still a chance to enter a five-a-side Football Competition at The Football Academy that could see you face football legends, such as Frank McAvennie (West Ham), Nigel Winterburn (Arsenal, West Ham), Clive Allen (Spurs, Chelsea) and Kerry Dixon (Arsenal).
The competition, set-up similar to that of the Champions League, will take place on The Football Academy's official opening day of August 27 with only a few team places still available.
The format of the tournament will consist of four qualifying groups, each with five teams, which will include one team of legends in each, giving every team a chance to play against the pros.
Even better news for you is that the legends do not get to proceed to the next round no matter how many they beat you by, leaving you to work your way to the final.
So if you fancy running out with some of the greatest names to ever play the beautiful game you'd better move fast, as there are only limited places left.
So round up your mates, give your team a name and give us a call to register yourselves and your team colours on 0870 084 2111. Cost: £300 per team (Eight players per squad max).
There will be plenty of other activities taking places during the day for the whole family, but for more information, visit The Football Acadamy webite https://www.footballacademyuk.com
