I have experienced the same no-shows, doesn't make sense unless when they see the item that they're interested in they then go digging around on ebay, preloved or whatever, find it cheaper then are embarrassed to get back in touch and say they've changed their mind? Who knows?

I simply keep their number but name them in my phone as 'Gumtree no-show' or 'Gumtree time-waster', then ignore them.

I get the same on Facebook- at one point I was only getting about 1 successful collection on every 5 or 6 where people were absolutely definitely coming to collect.

I particularly hate it when they want a difficult collection time, and I make a special arrangement to rush home from a friends lunch, or miss something to be there- and still they don't bother to turn up or even email/phone to apologise.

On Facebook I always check back now against previous history before I accept an offer and arrange collection, if my messages show they were time wasters I just ignore them and if they ask why I tell them outright that they only get to waste my time once.
