Civil Enforcement Ltd - maximum parking allowance exceeded

Hi, I'm currently a struggling student and I recieved a letter through the door from "Civil Enforcements ltd" stating I was parked at a local tesco over the maximum parking allowance which I'm assuming means I was there for a while. I visit this tesco maybe once or twice a week and was am there for half n hour to an hour max so I now believe this parking notice to be wrong if not a scam.

The big problem here is that I have already paid the fine in fear of the amount going up as stated on the letter. I was worried I wouldn't be able to afford it and now this week I'll have no money because of this company. I was stupid to pay it and my bank has given me a number to a disputes line I can ring Monday to get my money back although he said if I can't prove the company as fraudulent I probably wont be able to get my money back. I'm also now very concerned about parking at tesco to get my food so will go in and speak to them I suppose.

Did I do the right thing in paying and does anyone have any general advice? Is this a private company enforcing tesco carpark?
Thanks in advance

the NEWBIES sticky thread tells you what you should have done

its not a fine , its an invoice

you paid it , end of story, you wont get a reversal and wont get your money back

you could complain to the landowner, and should have done so, but as you have paid it I think this is the end of it, for you anyway

learn, so you know better next time

Well, I'm not a regular visiter to this website so didn't think to read here. Guess I'll have to find another local tesco. Just futher proof the country is going down the pan I suppose. Ah well.
