I've just booked and paid for a car through auto Europe.
Car hire is with Dollar but the chap on the phone said the deposit will be 100 dollars that'll be blocked on the card and dollar website says 409 dollars.
Auto Europe website states:•Please note at the time of pick up, the local supplier will require a security deposit to be left for the vehicle. This takes the form of approximately $400 USD being blocked on the primary drivers credit card.
Was there any benefit going via Auto Europe? Did you claim CashBack?0 -
Must have been a typo for me to put 409. I saw the website say $400 deposit.
Only benefit was it was slightly cheaper and someone recommended the site.0 -

It didn't seem any cheaper to me. Plus there is usually 8% or 9% cashback available with Hertz/AVIS.
6% with Auto Europe.
Either way, I'm sure there wasn't much in it.0 -
Some positive comments would have been good rather than putting down everything I've posted. Are you always so negative about everything other than your own ideas obviously. Anyway, thanks for your input it was really...negative.0

The board doesn't exist to stroke your ego. It's here to offer the best advice on getting the best value for your money. I happily passed on my experience in these matters.
If you are too obtuse to take it on board there is nothing that can be done.
Enjoy your trip, after all, it's only (your) money.0 -
Read your replies to my posts, I can't see anything positive but being obtuse maybe I have.0

Maybe, just maybe, they were the cheapest:TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Obviously I am not intelligent enough to be able to book car hire in America or arrange spending money. I've come across people like you on forums before. I was asking for guidance and all you have done is pretty much mock the actions I have already taken and given me no help whatsoever. The group is not here to stroke your ego either which is obviously what you use it for.
Thank you to the people who have replied and Mr nifty digits I hope you and your ego have a nice day.
Obtuse man xx0 -
What a male chauvinist reply. Obviously you are of an older age, possibly retired with plenty of time on your hands. A bit female. How insulting of you towards women.
I wouldn't bother with a reply as I'll no longer be monitoring any replies.0
