Contents insurance for nursing home residents

My mother has recently moved into a nursing home but they do not have any insurance cover for residents' property.
Can anyone suggest a company that does contents insurance for care home residents at a reasonable price?

    I use Saga.
  • Use a broker to find the best deal. There are several insurance companies out there some of whom only deal with brokers and it doesn't cost any more as brokers are paid by the insurers they place you with. Plus, being a profession, you can be guided by their experience and are protected by the brokers own professional insurance if things go wrong.

Good luck, and yes I am an independent insurance broker and would be pleased to assist. Please PM me if interested.

Sorry for earlier brief reply; I now have more time. Something that came up when I was insuring was new for old clothes - my relative has very little of value in her room, and when we looked in her wardrobe the clothes would have cost more to replace than anything else.

Many insurers don't include clothes in new for old cover. Saga does (or did last autumn). The premium last year was £87.
