hi guys I'm on my phone and it does not use the search option
anyway looking at leaving british gas and sainsburys can supply me at 25 pounds a month less
thing is do they do all the work when u give details and that's it or do I have to inform bg of my leaving
really sorry if this is done to death but not that clever on the subject I just know I'm sick of paying a fortune for my gas and electric

Your new supplier does all the work .
You must be out of contract or within 42 days of the end .

Check that your figures are correct . Its the tariff that is the true price any Direct Debit is an estimate only and will depend upon your usage ,
Sainsburys Energy supplied by BG .

hi yes I just signed up to bg again so I am in the 14 day coling off period..
went on u switch and energy club and put my usage of 12700 kwh gas and 6935 kwh of electric use in the last 12 months and I can save 24 pounds a month with sainsburys
not sure if there is anything else I can do before actually switching but seems to god to be true?

Sign up, dont mess around its a no brainer. Sainsburys Energy is up to 25% cheaper than BG despite being 100% BG in everything except the name. Same staff on cust services, same billing, same call centres, same meter readers. BG say they offer the much cheaper Sainsburys tariffs as a "no frills " tariff so can justify all their muggins loyal British Gas customers stuck on probably the highest tariffs of any of the big six. Sounds to me that OFGEM need to stop this two tier pricing con where BG have signed up Sainsburys to use their good name and image to ensure a bigger market share.

Not internet only, but the cheapest tariffs, way cheaper than BG s is only on direct debit. The same cheap direct debit rates are not offered by BG or anywhere near it.
All the loyal old customers, those who equate BG to be the old "gas board " and have fallen for the "British " moniker are really paying for their misplaced loyalty and their hatred of direct debits.

Many comparison sites give you a kickback if you sign up via their site .

Cheap energy club certainly give a "kick back ", I ve had 2 x £30 this year for my two switches which is about 50% 0f my total gas bill for the year, incl standing charges, so any switching grab the kickback from MSE
