West Wales internet problems causing MSE problems

As part of my struggle to get a normal (ie reliable) internet connection here - I've just had my router swopped to a new one.
Cue - every time I click into MSE website and it comes up instantly with a (several months old) reply post I put up and I have tried and tried to amend it without success.
Any clues as to how to ensure my first "asking" the Internet for MSE will produce the standard main page of MSE - instead of that months old "post" on a thread I made please?

don't login, clear your cookies
router change is not relevantDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
You've presumably added a "Favorite" bookmark that's an old post.... choose the Forum Homepage, add that as a new "Favorite"...
Certainly isn't your router, certainly not y rhyngrwyd.
As to asking for a web page, I too am stumped. What exactly are you doing, in English....0 -
Never happened prior to swopping my router earlier today....hence why I'm drawing a connection.
Will try the "clear cookies" thing....that sounds a distinct possibility for what might work...
Errrrrm...next thing being "How do I clear cookies please?" (usually on Internet Explorer browser - if that makes a difference)....0 -
It is NOT your router.... I know enough about them (and you) to be able to reassure you 101% on that. How are you "asking the internet"? Which browser are you using?
Try this. Google home page search . CLICK THIS LINK
What happens?

A'right...have just taken a wild stab at "Clear history" on my computer and still the same.
Clicked link given - and got normal MSE Forums page.
I've got MSE set up on my Google toolbar (along with several other websites) as sorta favourites and get in that way normally.
Just done another click on that and it shows up as "Moneysavingexpert - reply to topic". Narrowing it down - as it didn't have that "reply to topic" bit there before.0 -

Click on the link I gave you, add that to "favorites" by clicking on the star in the address bar (or just dragging the icon in the address bar t where you want it), delete the old one from the toolbar (it's wrong!), apologise to your router and the Welsh Internet, and go on posting your usual pearls of .... wisdom.
Happy to help!

Strictly speaking, the verbs of HTTP are request/response, so yes you do ask for a webpage ;-)
OP, as some have said above, you've somehow set a favourite/homepage by the sounds of things0
