g3258/h81 - win 10

I give in , onlyway to get the thing to boot (without a loop) is to disable one core

even tried a DVD load (new) ,

well know problem on the Microsoft forums

board is a gigabyte h81-d2v

so either give in or chuck the cpu in the bin

evidently its some microcode in 7/8/10 (genuine intel) and the g3258 fails to meet its spec ,,

been at it all day , clean 7 , then a clean 8 , tried to update , tried from pen /dvd even tried clean install , total fail.

A quick Google says try uninstalling KB3064209, whoops with W10 enforced updating though.

I have a MSI Mate Z97 with an Intel G3258 to use as a mucking about system.

I'll be trying a clean install of Win 10 next week but at the moment it's running Win 7 Ultimate x64 perfectly. Installed from a USB stick without any problems. Using 2 x 4GB of DDR3 with it.

I'll post back when I get the time to try Win 10.

the problem is with the h81 chipset and the g3258 , not the z97 , and this seems (as in my case) to be a MSI board problem

    Ah! OK.

I got the wrong impression when you were talking about some microcode in 7/8/10.

I did have a h81 once but not any longer, so can't offer any help I'm afraid.

Did you check the KB3064209 update issue?
