Thanks-we've been taking it slowly due to the children (he doesn't have any). He has a lodger so I need to get rid of him as well! :rotfl:
  • Good news about (maybe) moving in with bf.:j

Get the lodger to move into yours. House swap;)

  • Each month I have been going over into my overdraft. I really need to get a grip and stop over spending. I have put aside £100 for xmas presents for family-I hope I can do it on this budget-I think a few boxes of Heroes will be on the cards!
It's my daughter's bday next sunday and I'm starting to feel guilty she's not having a party or getting loads of presents off me. In my defence she has one extremly expensive present but a 7 year old doesn't really comprehend that do they. I have been looking online but know I really shouldn't buy anything more. :-(
  • Well I caved. I went shopping after work. Good news (if there ever is when shopping :-)) is bought DD1 3 things from the pound shop. So not bad at all bulking out the gift. I've also bought all but one Christmas presents for my family. So I am feeling pretty pleased with myself. I haven't spent loads either, few tins of chocs from the supermarket, shortbread and wine mostly.. nice and cheap. It's the thought that counts eh.

I've cancelled an insurance subscription that I have had for 9 years. I will now o/p the amount allotted for that each month. Fingers crossed I won't need to claim now I have cancelled eeek.

My mortgage balance is sitting at a nice round figure. Happy evening all round
  • Not much mortgage slaying/money saving lately. I have overpaid £907.78 in 2015 which I am pleased about. I will not make my overpayment goal I set myself (get my balance down below £100,000) as I will be moving in with my boyf in the next few months. Surprisingly the lodger is moving out next week so I thought I had more time. I need to do a little work here to let it out and bring a women's touch to my boyfriend's house! He is happy to see me continue to overpay my mortgage he even said I should throw my wages into it-I said he needs to earn enough for both of us then! I have suggested we draw up some legal documents regarding our houses. Not sure how things will go in the next few months! All change :-)

  • Thank you, you too
  • No update for a long time! My mortgage free journey has been postponed as anticipated. I'm due to move in with my boyfriend in April. I've spent all my spare money on doing my house to rent out. I've got consent to let for 12 months. The house went on rightmove yesterday so fingers crossed it will get a good tenant! I will check in and read some diaries. Best of luck all :-)
