Amazon prime - an idiots guide please?

Options
My OH is a massive top gear fan and wants to subscribe to amazon prime tv so that he can watch the new show when it comes out.

We currently have sky (everything but the sports channels) and it's £90 a month. I subscribe to spotify premium, I love to read but don't currently read on any of my devices.

If we sign up to amazon prime is there a way that we can access the TV and the music on all of our devices (2 x iphone and 2 x ipads) or would we need to pay £79 per device?

I know that there's a service where you pay monthly just for the TV but if we can buy the full service and get rid of my spotify bill that would save money in the long run and if there are enough shows my OH likes on the amazon thing (he likes the shows about life in alaska, car shows like wheeler dealer and animal documentaries) we can downgrade the sky to a more basic service. I'm not a big TV person so any savings in this arena would be appreciated.

I access Amazon Prime Instant Video on both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One, as well as occasionally via my PC, and I have accessed it through my smartphone before. I also accessed the music service via my smartphone.

So based on that, you wouldn't need to pay £79 per device.

Worth bearing in mind Amazon Prime Music only has around 1 million tracks on it, compared to 22 million on Spotify so you should check whether the songs you want are on Amazon before ditching Spotify for it.

And just in case, university students, including Open University students, can get Amazon Prime for £39 per year for the duration of their studies.

I believe that with one Amazon Prime login you can stream to two devices at the same time using one Amazon account.

You can sign in via any number of PCs, phones, smartTV, Firestick etc. ( I do) but I've just streamed to the one device at a time.

We've got two fire sticks and to my amazement we can stream both at the same time on our slow internet connection (3-5 mbps). This is covered by the one payment of £79

I like the next day delivery (although not on everything sold on Amazon), you also get a 30 mins headstart on the lightning deals and can borrow a kindle book for free once a month. Plus there is music you can stream too and upload photos to store.

If you haven't already tried it you will probably be able to get a month's free trial to see if you like it.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
