Connection to this site is not private - Help

Have been having a few glitches recently and have just noticed when logging on to some sites, I have a page showing instead of the green padlock. I have an HP chromebook. Dred to think what is happening.

How can I log on securely? bearing in mind I'm not technie minded. I do have a policy that I can take to shop for them to have a go, but don't want to wait till then as have been into all my accounts recently.

    Hi,

ebay, gumtree, zoopla, thankfully have just tried my mortgage account but doesn't go secure until i have logged on.

In fact with ebay saw a bid when i looked at my seeling items and showed in the left hand side column, when i clicked on the item, it stated no bids ??

This made me wonder and worry. Then saw i was not secure.

Well as I said - not technie minded, but I thought all sites were meant to be secure?

I think you're worrying too much, none of the sites that you mention use https so they aren't secure, whereas something like Paypal is. If you decide to only use https sites you'll find your browsing very restricted, although if you are paying for something then it does make sense to only do it if it is secure. Maybe there is a Chromebook setting that allows you to suppress the message.

Thanks, that's a worry off my mind, its just I have been having glitches and felt as if something/one was trying to control my screen instead of me. (Paranoid, I know, just because I know nothing about techie stuff).

Well, guess what - I had cause to worry. I have just been notified with a message from my internet supplier stating that I have gone over my allowance for this month and its only 17 days into the month.

So I have accumulated an extra bill for £19.50 so far, and will keep on charinging me £6.00 for every 250mb I use until the next months allowance starts on the 21st.

    Something is going on.
