Complaints procedure for conveyancing

Please could somehow advise me of the correct procedure when making a formal complaint? I've written a complaint for the conveyancing manager for the solicitors but she is on holiday, does she need to respond to this before I take any further action? Obviously I am willing to give them the chance to put it right.
The complaint is mostly regarding unprofessional conduct by the conveyancer.

Different firms have different complaints procedures.

Look at their website, or check the documentation they sent you when you first instructed them.

    Then follow their process.

If you need to escallate externally it will depend if you are using a Solicitor (Solicitors Regulation Authority), a Licenced Conveyancer or a Legal Executive.

Usually complaints procedure has to be set out in the client care letter in the inital documents if it is a solicitors. Complaint to the SRA works in the same way as you would do the other organisations where you have go through the complaints procedure with the firm in question first.
