Stupid quotes

Options
Sorry excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong area but I couldn't find where else to post this, I've just been told by an insurance broker that my insurance company are screwing me over hugely, I have a 1.4L Honda civic and my quotes vary from £4000-£8000, I've played around with all variables and it seems that it's my road, the insurance on the roads either side of me are £1000-£2000 respectively, I had a friend who just passed his test check and his was still cheaper than mine, I'm still young only 18 but I've been driving for just a year with a years no claims, why on earth is it this high? My roads not dangerous and I've never seen a crash here in the 8 years I've been living here, is there anything I can do about this?

    Move?

If an insurance broker has told you the premiums are too high, presumably they can offer you something better, so how much is what they suggest?

What have crashes on your road got to do with anything?

Sometimes it's just based on the area. My sister moved up the road and her premium went up £2k. Needless to say she went elsewhere.

It's not the crashes on the road, it's the people who live there. They may make lots of claims.

I'm a bit puzzled here. Who is giving you these huge quotes? Just one insurance company? Have you tried the online comparison sites?
