Stupid quote

Sorry excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong area but I couldn't find where else to post this, I've just been told by an insurance broker that my insurance company are screwing me over hugely, I have a 1.4L Honda civic and my quotes vary from £4000-£8000, I've played around with all variables and it seems that it's my road, the insurance on the roads either side of me are £1000-£2000 respectively, I had a friend who just passed his test check and his was still cheaper than mine, I'm still young only 18 but I've been driving for just a year with a years no claims, why on earth is it this high? My roads not dangerous and I've never seen a crash here in the 8 years I've been living here, is there anything I can do about this?

Insurance companys certainly charge a large sum for motorists, and there will be lots of factors to take into account, if your fishing for a quote online do not give your real deatils as even this seemingly simple act can have the effect of increasing quote prices.
Also as this place deals with parking tickets etc, try the general motoring forum here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=70
