Oh yeah, I've been caused offence by number 1 songs such as that Eamon song from several years ago. So, yes, material that was on Top of the Pops and considered suitable for children has caused me serious offence (because of the environment in which I happened to be at the time when I heard it), whilst I have no problem with 18-rated films in my own home or at the cinema. I have never yet been caused offence by an 18 film. I was caused offence once by a 12-rated film in the cinema that, unbeknown to me, contained bleeped-in language and which distracted my attention and made me so upset that I was unable to concentrate on the entire rest of the film for the next hour of its remaining length and eventually, after it had finished, the people with me asked me what I thought of it and I got extremely upset but told them I was upset but couldn't explain to them why. Eventually, they did prise the reason out of me. I was once caused offence by a bleeped edition of Big Brother in the afternoon when screened in my hairdressers and again I felt so uncomfortable and couldn't mention anything to them or ask them to switch it off because that itself was referring to my own upset. Not nice or appropriate to hear there at all - the language really flies out of the television even more when it is bleeped. They call it 'let the expletives fly' - well, the actual unbleeped stays safely on the audio, the bleeped ones fly out at me. Moving on...0

Fantastic news Go and get that job x
Oh yes, best of luck for the job. That's for diverting me.
Everyone normally will be able to succeed at interviews much more than me. The only interview I ever passed [EDIT: do'h, I'm beginning to go on about myself, egotistically (unintentionally egotistically) and in an Asperger way - I will start to empathise, or make my unsuccessful attempt at doing so, in the last paragraph below folks] - which got my last job that lasted over 15 years - was one where, by fluke, I happened to give all the 'right' answers and had happened to read, the week before as part of a special interest, an entire book on the same thing as what it turned out they were asking me about. Just pure fluke coincidence. I've never done well at interviews before or since. I remember one - this is decades before my official Asperger diagnosis (although I diagnosed myself several years earlier, before anyone else and then forgot about it) - where I did the interview, obviously I realise now I'd waffled on and at the end the interviewer literally shut the door in my face. Not very kind at all to experience that. I knew then (d'oh) that obviously I would not get that job. No-one knew about the condition back then; even now, it's impossible for any interviewer, I believe, to put aside subconscious feelings and perceptions so it will never be truly equal (all things adjusted for the disability). That aside, disclosure of disability is itself an issue as well as people's assumptions that that might make you unsuitable or their own preconceptions. Then it's better to not reveal anything and just pretend. To try to pass as normal - but, really, you can't, as the eye contact (if there is any - I have to make the effect, no-one else does) will always seem unnatural and - I'm being too pessimistic obviously - even then the subconscious of the interviewer make them perceive something is a little odd, so you won't get picked (unless you absolutely shine through with your knowledge - and then  don't go on unknowingly past the point of boredom). 16% of people with my condition are out of work - the highest of any disability group - and it's the job interview process that is the barrier.
Anyway, enough of that: I'm happy where I am at the moment. Best of luck for your interviews (interviews not plain-sailing for anyone - and so much haphazard as well, depends on what the other candidates are like and can come down to stupid things like one of them says something to do with the tearoom at the workplace which the other does not mention - silly example, I know, but just shows how fine it can be sometimes - if you get it, well done and, if you don't, then not to worry, nothing lost, if anything the experience gained, could be entirely not something to do with you). See - I do actually consider others. Wish they'd consider me:rotfl:. (Explanation for anyone who has missed it: the context here is not consider me for interviews - normally I have no problem getting to actual interviews (going on about me again:wall::rotfl:) - the paper CV is easier for me than many people I suspect - but instead I mean consider me as in consider the impact on me in other situations in life, especially after numerous complaints, in more privately-written letters that are lot easier, have been made).0 -

Anyway, I digress, is it that you find the inference of the words offensive whilst you are in company or is it offensive even if you are listening to it whilst alone? Before you assume, learn the facts,
Before you judge, understand why,
Before you hurt someone, feel,
Before you speak, think.0 -

Wow gosh ! what do I say to that, perhaps its the era we were brought up in and the values and respect ( or perhaps fright)we had to our parents/elders and the morals which they instilled in us, have now made us question society, watershed times and the context of the spoken word.
Im pleased your heart is now not racing and after your essay you hopefully feel at ease.
I like the word 'neutral' and that's what I aim to be, I still have opinions but NEUTRAL is the word for today0 -

Oh well (I'm obviously not going to quote the whole lot folks), I notice got 3 thanks whilst a post immediately before about the actual APG and moneysaving got only two. (Three now I'm going to thank its writer.) You must obviously like my post, so, it's staying here and was appropriate, in a way, after all.
Alright, I'd bid you good afternoon. See you maybe after the weekend. (I'm actually waiting for petrol prices to come down, hopefully, and rationing my fuel use lol in the hope that they might do so in the next few days if I wait a little bit more - bet they won't:( - resorting to filling the absolute minimum to keep the car going until they do:rotfl::rotfl: Extreme money-saver or what? For the sake of a penny or two a litre!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
