Sarahdol I hope you have a fab holiday.

It's all very angsty here with our approaching trip. DS2 has not forgotten having to to put Bluebear through the scanners at Charles de Gaulle eons ago when we went to Euro Disney :o:o that was a meltdown the French had never seen before

We've been training on the belt sander :o ok it's a bit fast but it's the nearest thing to a scanner belt I've got :o I have told him Bluebear won't get his head smacked off the wall on the other side :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

the same. fast when it works, but there are these occasional drop-outs when it vanishes and you have to hunt and struggle to get the signal back. :o

Strange that we both had problems, living so far away from each other.

Yeah but I don't know whether the causes of cable problems tend to be local or central. They seem to be clustered though, so you get a bunch of blackouts.

We joined over 20 years ago when they were United Artists. There were two competing satellite companied back then and cable was the only way to get both.

There's stacks more channels now but on another level there isn't. We've moved on from the kind of madness where programmes were deleted once they were shown twice to a new kind of madness where they're repeated forever.

Totally. I use them now as they are the only one (that I am aware of) that dont insist I have a phone line. I dont want a phone line, nor need one, so refuse to pay for one.

Does that have an effect on credit applications? It came up elsewhere on the board that it's helpful to have a landline number (even if it doesnt do outgoing calls). Has that changed?
