Had to clear out the loft over the weekend for the boiler man. So much junk went to the tip. Why did we keep 8 old broken suitcases? And old cassette players from our long-scrapped cars? Mind you, I did find the end of my daughters USB flash drive that she lost 5 years ago :rotfl::rotfl:

I dread to think what is in our loft. Youngest child was good at going up there and at least tidying it up - he had a cull of all of the appliance boxes last time he was up there.
Some of the stuff up there is not even mine. When we cleared m-I-l house some stuff had to go up there as we didn't have time to sort everything. Also when we did the boys bedroom remodelling eldest son was away and his stuff went up there.
I know I saved eldest child's baby clothes as I thought I would have more daughters but that never happened.
Our first sofa was like one you would have in a conservatory, wooden surrounds and floral middles, I know this was unscrewed and is upstairs somewhere - 20 odd years in the loft so what state is that in.
Also when I started doing competitions it was in the olden days when you had to enclose your entry form with a can label and put it in the post :D several of the big names like Heinz ran competitions constantly so you saved your can labels all year round ready for the next competition. I am sure there are bags of labels upstairs.
(Yes we spent fortunes on stamps, I can remember some months having post office receipts with £30 spent on stamps but then we didn't have mobile phone and text competitions and broadband so we prob spend more now than ever :)

When I cleared m-I-l house she had lived in Less than a year so I assumed the loft would be easy to do - wrong. Fortunately I had youngest son with me to help. Firstly came down boxes of stuff that had been packed and moved with them from house to house and never unpacked. Then the Christmas trees - 8 of them
Again they must have bought new trees every year and just moved house with them all. I found someone on Freecycle who was having a Christmas themed wedding the following September and she took them all :T
