I'm having a terrible battle with Ds2 about deodorant. So I've got it that the blast of an aerosol is really offensive to him. I've bought numerous roll on ones and stick type ones for him but he's really digging his heels in.
    I forgot...
    it's not hot today, I won't sweat....
    I can't smell it :rotfl::rotfl:......

I've had to resort to to threatening behaviour (computer, Tv and gadget bans)

I said to him a few weeks ago before school finished, you don't want people to be thinking you are smelly and talking about you.

He said 'There's lots of smelly people at school, I don't talk about them and anyway they'll talk about me whether I'm smelly or not' :o

    An answer for everything

My ds2 loved his smellies. Deodorant in morning and body spray during the day:eek:
Thing I use to hate was PE kit locating and washing. In the end if they didn't produce it in time they were force to try lost property. Everything was far more expensive in relation to wages back then too.

. I do think a chaise lounge is a good description of you though. Stylish yet comfortable and laid back :)

This is one thing that shocked me greatly in moving from Scotland to England  It all seems to be done and dusted within the week north of the border. I did notice a significant increase in time since I've lived here. Like you, I've experienced a 3 week ish delay.
I find it terribly hard on families :( almost like 2 periods of grief. I'm not totally sure what the reason for it is and it's not a pleasant subject. And one you have to be ultra sensitive about.

I figure it could be a lack of crematorium time. I have only been to one funeral in recent years that was a burial and it was quicker than the others I've been to.

I really hope no one is offended by that :o none is meant at all! It's just that the subject came up :o

Standard wait in winter is 3 weeks but we took one of the many 9.15am slots when arranging dad's service. Plenty of choice then and 2 weeks was just the right time to get ourselves organised. Would have been nearly 4 weeks otherwise.
Harsh winters longer wait than mild ones.
Strange subject but something quite a few of us have had dealings with lately.

I rarely read the forum in the daytime, it is my bedtime reading.
The thought behind this is it is very rare I would rush out to buy a glitch incase it finished so no need to check several times a day.
I take it these are 'school boxers' not 'school trip' boxers?
Got to be done so might as well enjoy it. I use to find school shirts rarely needed ironing. Definitely at that age boys need a clean shirt every day, along with socks and boxers so you have made it easy to understand too.
I remember last year your dd changed her mind on her school bag 48 hours before term began.

Popped round to see how house was going and nice man showed us round the 2 opposite mine. Very impressed and feeling far more comfortable now have been in one. Kitchen units are pot luck but both kitchens I saw were lovely so not worried.
Feeling blessed my lovely dad left me in this fortunate situation and I will not have to answer to a landlord much longer.

Meeting N tomorrow to check out her wardrobe contents and see what she is going to pack (and what she really needs to buy). Hopefully we on way home as I am currently car less.

Even though there are a few glitches going on it is nice to have a quiet thread for a couple of weeks, bit like a summer holiday.
Can't wait to see the photos of little ts finished kitchen:T

    I so get that!

I'd be on the bones of my skinny arris if it wasn't for my Dad :o he really did work hard and think hard about me. there is no better thing you can leave behind than to look after your kids after you are gone. He would be so happy that you are benefitting the way you are :A and its what he worked hard for. Depending on your beliefs.....I guess he is smiling very much right now :A

I'm now starting a campaign to get me to 55 where I can claim my civil service pension :D I added extra years to it when I took redundancy and it's a nice pot! I'd like to spend it going on holidays and having fun :D

John lewis price match and Mr T sells John lewis vouchers.
    Sorry best I can do.

John Lewis will be good but probably can't undercut Apple. Software4students do some mac software if the machine doesn't come with much.

  • Was going to make a joke about how many years you have until 55:rotfl:
Luckily over the last few years my arris has at least had plenty of padding:rotfl:
Doing exactly what dad wanted me to do and near perfect house for my needs.

DW took retirement last year and an enviable state it is I must say. But we need to spend the money on all sorts.:o

I'm working for at least another 10 years to pay off the mortgage. On the other hand I like my job. It often feels I make a difference.:)

i think you are like me Xag and possibly had kids later in life than some people do :o that means paying for them longer. But it also means you enjoyed your 20s :D :rotfl::rotfl:

Why did no one ever tell us that burning the candle at both ends didn't include kids :o

Like you i am also working and do actually enjoy my job so life could be a lot! worse :)
