Credit Report further back than 6 years

Can anyone advise me if there is a way to obtain a copy of your personal credit report that goes back longer than 6 years.
I have a suspicion I have a potential PPI claim with one opf my creditors form years gone by. However, when I check my experian or Noddle reports it will only show active or deactive account from last 6 years.
I need this as I have no copies of any agreement from that time and need to understand how much and who I had the agreement with.
Any advise would be much appreciated

I've been "told" before that CRAs drop the old data from their records completely when dropped from the reports, so even a full SAR to the CRAs requesting it beyond 6 years would not produce the data you mention.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

That is correct. We can only hold records for a limited amount of time under the Data Protection Act.

However, I was informed by one of these companies that claim to help reclaim PPI that they have access to my credit file going back to when I was 18 years old. They did say that experian reports do not go back further than that but now am wondering whether that as well as the other info I was told was all a lie and just a ploy to get me to give them money!!!!0 -
