Transported a freezer & turned on too early. What next?

We moved a 2nd hand freezer horizontally. The manual said to leave it 4 hours, which we did, but I now see that the consensus is more like 12-24 hours.
Guess what? It doesn't work. The compressor gets warm but the transfer coils on the back don't and the freezer doesn't cool (let alone freeze). There's no working noise from the compressor, except for 2 seconds when it's first turned on.
Is there anything I can reasonably do (the freezer cost £30)? Or is this a "learning experience"
.
Thanks.

Turn off and leave for 24 hours, give it a good shaking and rattling in the upright position a few times while switched off. This helps to displace any gas bubbles which can cause a blockage. Then pray !

It's likely choked.
What happens is that the oil in which the motor inside the compressor is suspended, will have gone up into the system and blocked the pipework. If that's the case and leaving it off for at least 12 hours doesn't see it working again then I'm afraid it's pretty much destined for landfill.
Sorry.

Thanks guys. I've left it for a couple of days and it's still not working, so as you say it's likely landfill. I'll shake it a bit first though - even if it doesn't help the freezer it sounds therapeutic
