world lottery.com

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I have had an email from net voucher codes this morning about a 50% saving on the euro millions tonight.

I have gone through the link and it takes me to a site called worldlotteryclub.com, does anyone know if this is safe please?

I was going to have a go on it tonight, but at £2.00 a line, a saving is good.

Thanks in advance.

That site is just promoting other sites of the same type, the first "recommended" one reveals

On a syndicate entry for one week

Of your £10.40 stake £3 is spent on tickets (they make £740 on each syndicate of 100 shares)

There is no commission charged by theLotter on any winnings

Hardly a surprise they can claim this when they have already taken 71% of your stake for "costs".

If you want to enter as part of a syndicate do it with family/friends/colleagues etc where 100% of what you pay gets spent on tickets instead of just 30% or far less

    Thread about another one

    Hi,
I have used this offer on world lottery club and it does just what it says 50% saving, you can buy up to 5 lines for £5, that would normally cost £10. Also got my winnings quickly.
The site is regulated and licensed by the UK Gaming Commission so it’s safe.

In early May, I had a Groupon offer of £2 for two EuroMillions lines, which took me to worldlotteryclub.com. It appeared to be a one off bet and I must admit that I didn't read the full terms and conditions page.

When I checked my next monthly bank statement, World Lottery Club had taken £10 every week since (£5 for each Tuesday & Friday draw with the those original 2 numbers) and I was £50 down!

I logged in to World Lottery Club to unsubscribe and also found that I had £3.10 of winnings sitting in the account. However they don't automatically pay winnings to you. (They don't even use them as credit for future draws.) You have to log in and manually withdraw winnings.

So, Warning: Always read the small print. The World Lottery Club Groupon offer starts a subscription!

If something sounds too good to be true ... it probably is.

I never trust these lottery type sites, all just looks a bit dodgy to me (without knowing anything about it)

Best never to give card details to any of these type of sites regardless of if it appears to be a one off or not.

I have seen this type of site take fees/commission/facilitation charges or however they hide it of between 70 and 90p in the £1 so as little as 10p in each £1 you pay them gets spent on tickets.

(The worst I have seen spent 10 pence on tickets out of every £1.50 they were paid)
  • World Lottery Club is a subscription site and a guaranteed way to lose money.
Like others, I made what I thought was a single £2.50 bet on the US lottery (as advertised in The Mirror on line) only to find out from Barclaycard that, subsequently, WLC had been taking regular sums of £12.00 and £10.00 from my card. Plus I was being charged a cash transaction fee by Barclays for each amount taken by WLC.
Fortunately (or so I thought) my card had expired after the first £2.50 transaction and I was issued with a brand new Barclaycard with a completely different number. I called Barclaycard to ask them to stop any further payments from the card by WLC and was assured by an agent that only the initial £2.50 had been taken and that no further payments to WLC would be allowed.
I was therefore very surprised to find that 7 week later, WLC had taken two further payments from my new card. I then emailed WLC customer service about this and they told me that they had no record of my membership!!!
I then called Barclays who said that it was normal practice to transfer agreed payments to a merchant from an old card to a new card. However, after a lot of discussion, they agreed to refund the two payments to WLC and stop any further payments.
The lesson here, as others have pointed out, is Caveat Emptor( always read the Small Print).
