I commented the other day that the built in programme for disk cleanup was not working (lower right)/all settings/system/storage/drive/remove temp files , click on it and nothing happens?
ok , back to the old way explorer/drive c: / properties/disk cleanup , yup it shows "x" number of say temp internet files , but click on "view files" , there are non? , click on downloaded programs and view , its pointing at c:/windows/downloaded files , not the normal folder (downloads) ,,
anyway to reset some of those settings to default
1: the "new way" that does not work ,
2: the old way that lies to you?

You need to click on the specific type of file to view otherwise it defaults to the first set in the list "Downloaded Program Files" which it explains are ActiveX and Java applets downloaded automatically by the browser not files which you have downloaded yourself.
Click a section with some data and then View Files and it shows them. It doesn't show the lot.
It could be clearer but it does seem to work. I haven't a clue what it did before as I always use CCleaner to get rid of junk files'0
