The same applies to any chip, keyed or magnetic stripe transaction.
It makes me laugh when people worry about contactless for transactions up to £20 (Soon to be £30), when someone could easily (Anyone can take advantage of the flaw) take someones card and use it in many stores in the UK, without a PIN for much larger amounts due to a big flaw in how terminals and banks fraud systems are configured.0 -
Which shops don't use a pin??????
Not seen a non pin transaction for around seven years.0 -
Would credit worthiness stop contactless cards being sent out.
TSB do send out contactless cards for new accounts, I've got 2 plus my Lloyd's card is contactless which I opened 9 months ago.0 -
I think so - same as you are liable for all card transactions until you report the loss/theft.0

No, you aren't liable for any contact less transactions that are fraudulent, regardless of whether you've reported the card missing yet or not. If you didn't make the transaction the bank refunds, end of story.
Santander:You will have the same cover against fraudulent transactions as you do with Chip and PIN transactions, you must tell us as soon as possible if your card is missing, lost or stolen or there are any transactions on your account you don’t recognise.
Nationwide:If your card is lost or stolen, you’re protected against fraud loss – providing you take the kind of precautions we recommend and let us know as soon as you realise it’s gone.
Lloyds:If your card is lost or stolen, your card has protection against fraud loss, provided that you inform us as soon as you realise your card is missing.
Natwest:Provided you’ve looked after your card and PIN, we’ll protect you should you experience any loss or fraud.
Which bank does as you say?0
