Issue with Mega Sky code from MSE e-mail from 5th August?

Hi all,

I really like the look of the Sky TV + broadband codes that MSE have blagged in their e-mail this week, and I like the look of the TV + fibre broadband deal, but I am slightly worried by the contract length. It looks like it is meant to be a 12 month term. That's what the MSE e-mail says - "These stonking 12mth contract Sky special deals are avail to 93% of the UK" - and the e-mail from Sky says "Get Sky TV, Box Sets, Sky Sports, Sky Movies and Sky Broadband Unlimited, all for £17.25 a month for 12 months."

However, in the small print at the bottom of Sky's email, it says: "18 month minimum contract for Sky Fibre/Fibre Unlimited and Sky Talk (only when taking Fibre) & further terms apply." Also, when you go to get the deal on the Sky website, it says: "18 month minimum term for Sky Fibre, Unlimited Talk and Line rental. Sky Fibre Unlimited for £27.25 a month plus line rental or 12 months, standard price (currently £95.75) plus line rental thereafter"

So I am confused. If I get the deal, do I have a 12 month contract on TV, but 18 months on fibre broadband and calls? If so, what price would I pay for the last 6 months of the broadband and calls contract? Would it become £27.25/month + line rental just for the broadband for the last 6 months? If so, that's not such a great deal anymore. And what does "£27.25 a month plus line rental or 12 months, standard price (currently £95.75) plus line rental thereafter" mean?

Grateful for any clarification!

I have exactly the same dialemma and it's preventing me from hitting the checkout button.
    Can anybody advise?
  • additionally with the tv it says the code has to be claimed by 21aug

can it be redeemed past this date or does it have to be all signed up for and initiated by then?
  • Fiber is 18mnths I think
We have just signed up to regular unlimited broadband 12 month contract
