How to remove disgusting cake of anti perspirant?

Ok so full disclosure I wear this top around the house all day every day and also sleep in it.
It doesnt smell at all (afaik) and I do wash it but because I use antiperspirant there are a couple of years of buildup on it that has formed this hard cake.
Here it is if you feel hardy enough to look. Remember it is only anti perspirant not dirt:
I tried washing it hotter I think and it seems to just run around and just get a bit softer rather than wash off. Seems like it needs some heavy duty chemical reaciton to get rid of it. Ive removed alot form the otehr side using a knife literally carving the chunks off but I wondered if theres a better way cos theres still alot stuck beneatch the inner layer.
Im wondering if there are any ways to disintegrate this heavy cake because it is a big issue with anti perspirant.
I dont want to stop using anti perspirant because I find them unparralleled for keeping you smelling good. So its a double edged sword

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=33lyvdt&s=8#.VcOXfPnaJHkI could buy a new top which I may one day but otherwise it isnt broken. and the same thing would happen with the new top so wondering how it could be remedied.

This ^^ I can't work out if OP is in the wind up or not ...
If serious, sorry OP but you will smell, in fact layering on the anti perspirant will actually make the smell worse. My advice is to start changing your clothes more often - morning and night!0 -
It doesnt smell its just like plastic. I just removed it with the knife and there was a handful of it and I smelled it and it didnt smell of anything. Its just stained antiperspirant not dirt.0

I tried copying and pasting the link but all I got was a site full of ads and dodgy pop-ups..
You need a turnaround of shirts, not just one, and you need to put them in the washing machine before it gets to anything like the stage you're describing, you dirty so and so

The only place for that is the bin. I really can't believe you are wearing it.0

Acid.
Vinegar or diluted descaler.
Leave it to soak for a day or so.
Use a pre-wash and then wash inside out with soda crystals in with the detergent.
If that doesn't work, then kill it with fire. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Sorry cashmonger, but that is clearly not just antiperspirant build up.
That looks rank. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
That is probably the most vile thing I've ever seen on here. Thanks so much for sharing it with us :eek:0
