Didn't get the grades, but university is still considering me - for how long?

I applied to study dietetics at Herts and was told that I required a B in Biology and a A in AS Chemistry. I started studying for these A' Levels in February and managed to attain a C in both subjects.
The university hasn't yet made a decision on whether to accept me. I rang them up yesterday and they told me by the end of the day they may have made their decision.
UCAS track hasn't updated .. so I'm a little stuck. I can't move forward until they make a decision either way.
Has anyone else been in this situation?

Ring the admissions tutor again asap. Tell them politely you don't want it to seem as though you are harassing them, but if you are stuck in limbo your chances of getting a place through clearing diminish by the day. They will understand this.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000

Definitely ring them back - be polite but make sure that you are speaking to the admissions tutor and take their name. My daughter was in a similar position yesterday and after a good honest discussion with the right person has got her place. UCAS was finally updated to show this yesterday evening around 9pm. Good Luck!!0

I work at a uni in admissions - the university has every right to take a few days over this decision but if they are sensible they should decide very quickly as otherwise you'll get annoyed and they'll lose you.
You are obviously borderline so just in case they don't accept you it might be sensible to start looking at what else is on offer and if you call round some other universities and you might surprise yourself as to where else will make you an offer.
If you're dead set on Herts then chase them as others have mentioned but don't be too pushy as this can annoy some academics who are really very busy at this time of year.
Most importantly good luck!!!Tesco is my second home:j0 -
I'll wait it out for a while. I don't want to be pushy- they have interviewed me, read my PS, and know my grades. I'm sure they can decide whether I match their criteria from these experiences/ pieces of info.0

Equally, you don't want to look disinterested and as if you're not bothered...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
