florida help please.

hi,
i am hoping to go to florida at the end of november for 2 weeks.i want to stay near disney.
i have seen lots of cheap flights for my dates, and would like to know about where to stay for as cheap as i can get(budget hotels ect).
I am 37 year old male and really just want a basic, clean room.are rooms per room or 2 persons rate.
Can you get cheap rates while out their booking on the day or am i better off booking in advance.
my other problem was not being able to drive,is their public transport from the airport ect.
any advice please,i would be very grateful.
i last went when i was 8 ,so looking forward to it.

  • Hi!With regards to the rooms, most you pay per room and NOT per person (the exact reason i never book package holidays to Orlando anymore, as im a single mum and refuse to pay single supplements!). Best bet would be to have a look on Travel Supermarket. If you book via an English Company, you pay before you go, however most U.S. companies, you pay at check-out. If you wont be driving, i would say check for a hotel with free buses to the parks. Have you thought about staying on-site? I got a good deal direct with WDW, $64 per room per night for September/October staying at Pop Century, me and my daughter.Ok, airport transport......which airport are you travelling to? If its MCO, i would reccommend Mears transportation (they have a website where you can book direct). If you are landing at Sanford, i would reccommend orlandocarriers.com, a shuttle costs $50 per person for a return journey to your hotel......can also be booked online.Hope this helps, any more questions, fire away!

There are a host of cheap motels and hotels where you can get a room for around $35 a night.

I suggest you read this thread, and in particular post #10 - the first link.

I've saved a small fortune bidding for hotels on priceline.com. For example, I got a 4* Renaissance Hotel in Ft Lauderdale for $68 per night plus fees. The cheapest I could get that hotel anywhere else I looked was $170. I got a 4* in Orlando near Universal Studios for $45 a night.

It takes a fair amount of research to get it to work well, but it's worth it due to the substantial savings you can get.

After you've found a hotel that suits your budget, you'd do well to check out the reviews on Tripadvisor website here. A brilliant website.

For example, the Orlando Grand Hotel is only £18 per night on the above link, but when you check tripadvisor, you'll find it is a bit of a dump!
