Are these e-mails in the 'sent' or 'deleted' folder?
Are notifications set to be sent when logging in?

It's neither difficult nor uncommon to sent e-mails from a different account and fake 'sent from' address that means that the account not necessarily was hacked.

    True

However on that rango link above is the email and password of some I know. I pointed them to that last year to prove to them they've been hacked. Foolishly they had used the same password for everything, not any more.

There seems to be something weird going on with Yahoo mail.

I have seen these spoofed messages from three relatives who all have Yahoo mail but they all use two stage verification so they have not been hacked through the usual means.

It looks as though the hackers have got hold of a list of email addresses that my relatives have sent emails to and then sent spoofed emails to them (including me). The mail accounts do not appear to have been accessed in any way.

There seem to be similar reports from others on the internet so it does not seem to be an isolated incident.

Yup - I got into work yesterday to find a strange email from myself.

Phoned the tech line and it seems the whole place has been hit with a major bit of phishing, potentially several thousand emails worth.

It mostly seems to be spoofed headers though, not actual access to accounts, unless someone was actually stupid enough to click on the suspicious attachment.
