Although a good buy and the TV is HDTV ready as it has an HDMI input unfortunately it is only 720p display format. A “full“ HDTV picture utilises 1080p. This means that only half the number of pixels will be displayed, approx 1 million as opposed to 2 million.

However, to receive HDTV you will need an HDTV receiver. At the moment the most common is the SKY HD box. So, if you are not bothered about HDTV for the lifetime of this TV it is a good buy. But better to be aware than not.
    You want a 1080p for £279? r u serious Hardly any 32" are 1080p any way:mad:

Is a 32" TV good for a small standard living room?
I see people going for 37" and above but TVs that big can give you a headache when staring at that a long time I think

32" sounds big enough to me.

I think some people buy bigger for one of two reasons:
1 - the bigger the better. Some people just like huge screens.
2 - It didn't look that big in the store.

I have a friend who bought a 50" rear projection HDTV from a very large Tesco store. He was quite shocked at the size of it when he got it home!

Whenever I buy a new TV (which is a very rare occurence - I still have a tube TV at the mo), I tend to look at the size I have, think about if I've been happy with watching TV on that size screen, then decide from that if I need to go bigger. Right now, I'm quite happy with my 28", but will probably go for 32 when I buy an HDTV, just for my gaming.
The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

Said the man in the glass house throwing a stone.

If you are going to try to be superior about other people's literacy levels, you could at least use correct grammar.

Ive looked for a 32" LCD with 1080p and couldn't find one. Do they exist?

    Nope.

The bottom line is that expert opinion states one cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on any panel below 50" and from a respectable distance too.

Panasonic do not make 1080p panels below 50" for that reason.

People buying 1080p panels on sets below the above are pretty much wasting their time and money.
