Although a good buy and the TV is HDTV ready as it has an HDMI input unfortunately it is only 720p display format. A “full“ HDTV picture utilises 1080p. This means that only half the number of pixels will be displayed, approx 1 million as opposed to 2 million.

However, to receive HDTV you will need an HDTV receiver. At the moment the most common is the SKY HD box. So, if you are not bothered about HDTV for the lifetime of this TV it is a good buy. But better to be aware than not.

Sky HD is only 720P anyway. According to the press they have no plans to transmit 1080P as this would be very costly in terms of satellite bandwidth and hardware.

You can get 1080P from some games machines and a few HD DVD players which will cost you more than the TV, but that's about it.

It is unlikely that TV signals will be transmitted in 1080P for several years or more by anybody.

The difference between 720p and 1080i/p is negligable on a 32" screen. This is a good price for this TV. If you want better your going to have to pay a lot more.

That said I'm waiting for price drops on the current higher-end models.

I ordered one at 9am ish. It's still showing as processing, and the website says it's only meant to show processing for a few seconds.

I don't hold out much hope of receiving this TBH.
