Warwick Castle

Hi,

Got one of those cheap Warwick Castle Family tickets that someone kindly mentioned a few days ago. Just wondering roughly how many hours does one normally spend at Warwick Castle. Is it like a theme park where you spend the whole day or is it like Buckingham Palace where you spend about 3 hours.

We plan to stay with a relative in Leicester as we are driving up from London. Need to decide whether to stay overnight at Leicester and go to Warwick Castle from there the next day or drive straight from London to Warwick Castle.

Thanks.

  • Having visited on a couple of occasions I'd say a few hours would be enough to see round the castle and grounds and look round the different exhibitions etc.

Depends how interested you are in the history, exhibitions, grounds etc. You could stirke a leisurely pace and spend all day there. If you breeze round, you could be in and out in half a day.

I've been about half a dozen times over the years and have still spent most of the day there on each occassion.

Thanks for the replies. Have read a few reviews on the internet and most people said it is a day outing or a minimum of 4 hours.

    Cheers.

Depends on what else is going on also. A couple of hours was enough for me when I visited the castle, but there was a falconry display and jousting on the same day so we took a picnic and stayed til closing :)
