Presume you take no meter readings in that case start reading your meters monthly to keep a check .
Also a reading now and every few days with a note of what is used .
Another point is what tariff are you on at a guess the standard most expensive tariff .0 -

Truth be told, thank you !
Your inattention and careless attitude to tariffs and meter reading is what keeps you on the very highest earnings for the energy providers. Its precisely you and others who do not switch tariff and providers [60% stickies] that subsidise the remainder of us that do switch tariff and providers - for which, I for one am eternally grateful.
- use a comparison site to find the cheapest deal
- submit monthly meter readings
- pay by direct debit
- start now

Watch out wildsavings , they may install an expensive prepayment meter if the shortfall is nt taken care of. You don t want that because you are then stuck on the dearest tariffs0

I've done a comparison and the projected saving would be maximum £25 per year. So not kicking myself unduly. With 3 children this was just one of the things that's slipped through the net since DD3 landed 2 yrs ago. I switched to the best deal just before we had her and was happy with the lower DDebit but it was too low obviously. Oh well, live and learn. Diary note in monthly now to read meters and input online...... and turning off all chargers. Thankfully they're just going to up our DD and claw it back slowly that way.Started my MFW journey in August 14 : £103,650

Just received an email from the supplier and it turns out they'd been charging the incorrect standing charge for 7 months in the beginning of my contract and now that they've corrected the account they've refunded our account by over £600!!!!!!!!!!!:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

If I understand what you are saying correctly, it doesn't ring true.
From an £800 debt to a £600 refund is a discrepancy of £1,400.
A typical standing charge is 20p to 30p a day for each fuel. So taking it as 40p to 60p a day for electricity and gas, in 7 months you should have paid around £12 or £18.
To account for a £1,400 discrepancy in 7 months due to an 'incorrect standing charge' you would have needed to be charged around £7 a day.0 -
Sorry I didn't word it quite right. We've gone from being £800 in debit to under £200 - so a £600 credit on the account, not in my account unfortunately. For reasons unknown the standing charge was at £1.80 over the normal charge on both fuelsStarted my MFW journey in August 14 : £103,650

Good result then, but it appears you haven't read any of your bills in 21 months, as that level of SC should be glaringly obvious. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
