we had a Worcester Greenstar 35CDi in our previous 3 bed/2 floor property. I'm not an expert but I think despite you having a good inflow, the factis it may be underpowered for a 3 storey house and this is why you are being impacted. Ours had an output of about 14l and both filling a bath and having a showere were unaffected by running any other taps, the 30CDi only looks to have 11l throughput so maybe that is more the issue
are you talking about a COMBI boiler?, are you taliking about someone running another Hot Tap?:A

How on earth will "reduced flow" taps make any difference to the water flow? you might just as well just open you existing taps only a small amount!

Opening the existing taps a small amount is very difficult - the slightest turn of the the tap gives a high pressure flow.

I have a really basic question about the 30CDI boiler: how do you turn the heating off?? We're getting the rads coming on every day, and are having to turn the remote thermostat down until the heating goes off. We could change the default daily programme to reduce the daytime temperature (I think it's 20 degrees) but then would need to programme it again as soon as it started getting colder.

With our old system you could turn either the HW or CH "off". The control panel on the boiler (RF10 Optimiser) has an "off" setting, but this doesn't seem to have any effect - either on CH or HW. There's no "off" setting at all on the remote thermostat - only "daytime", "timed" and "night-time", although we could set it to "night time" (7 degrees). Maybe that's the preferred way of turning the rads off in the summer???

Good afternoon: Your CORGI installer should be answering these questions. Did he/she not give you the lowdown on the operation of the boiler and programmer? Page 34 of the EST guide gives an outline of what advice a competent installer should give to the homeowner http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/uploads/documents/housingbuildings/ce30.pdf
Alternatively your Worcester Bosch user's manual and programmer manual should be able to answer your questions.

isn't there an instruction manual with it?

from that link it says either putting the dial off or on the frost protection setting is your best bet for the CH

Yep I've read the manuals several times (for both the boiler and the remote thermostat) but they don't answer any of my questions - they're pretty inadequate to be honest. The installer explained the basics of operation but the remote thermostat was of my choosing and he didn't seem to know much about it.
I'm amazed that something as basic as turning the CH on and off can be a mystery to both me and the installer - I'm pretty familiar with high-tech items.

Do you think your installer should read your manuals for you, then talk you through them? He gives you the basics then it's up to you. Do Ford Motors tell you what gear to be in when overtaking, you have a manual saying you've got five gears. But to say Ford havent got a clue, well.
A boiler is not HIGH-TECH it's just a water heater, with electronic controls, that is, on/off switches and thermostats.

so to clarify the thermostat/controller the installer put in doesn't cater for CH/HW as seperate entities? I'd be getting them back round to reinstall stuff fit for purpose to be honest

erm....yes i think if someone want to know then yes they should explain it.

I think your response is rather silly and very condescending as the example you give is completely different.
