greensalad - Yes, it's amazing what you can find in your yarn stash when you're a knitter! I am planning to knit a beanie hat for a friend, which I think he'll like & I found enough yarn in suitable colours to make that. I'd already got a ball of lovely sock yarn which someone gave me, so that's a pair for mr f (he likes funky socks) so present-wise, I only need to buy the yarn for my Dad's jumper. It's a fair-isle pattern using 3 colours. If I could use purple for the smallest amount of colour needed, I'd actually only need to buy two colours of double knitting, so not too expensive. Also, I sometimes round up all the nicest colours of my leftover proper sock yarn & knit baby socks which I've either sold on ebay, in my sister's friend's craft shop or given as new baby gifts. Good hunting....& get something cast on nice & early.....one less gift you won't have to buy!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

I would love to knit a christmas jumper for my partner but he would know I was knitting it so it wouldn't be much of a surprise!
I have 3 young cousins (well, I say young. 6,12 and 16!) so perhaps I could knit them each a hat or scarf. And one for Mum, two for grandmas. I'll see what I have stashed away.0 -
Fell asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours.
Better wake up and get moving.
*Kept an envelope that came with some junkmail for later use.
*Settle for a quick shower.
*Bake cookies with some of the Great Hot Chocolate Mountain we unearthed while Cupboard Mining last week.
*Decided not to go running as we walked for an hour along the sesafront. That's a saving in shoe 'leather' and washing my running kit.
*Cleared junk out of email to lessen the liklihood of us missing something important.
*Checked online banking. All as expected. Broke but solvent! My wage slip still isn't available online. I'm a bit worried this means they've messed up getting my final wage to me. Oh well, I'll know tomorrow when it's payday.
Offer:
*10% off parcel delivery with TNT when you book through www.Parcel2go.com quoting code TNTUK10.

Twiggy - I did indeed see the penny 2 days on the trot and just thought well if no one else is going to have that I will. :rotfl:
FVD -Glad you are holding up ok. Sorry you had to go into the office when so many others basically got a free day.
Ally -thanks for doing the thread this week.
Foxgloves - loving the competition between you and Mr F on sealed pots..& I am sure you will have that bit of weight off quick as a flash. You are so active.
Ratison - Glad you are better. And we'll done for getting out of that situation too. What doesn't kill us and all that.
Hello to anyone I haven't mentioned, on the smart phone so can't flick back and forth as easily.
Today's stuff.
1) Found 2p roadkill.
2) The guys forgot to buy bread despite being home so instead of going out again I am defrosting a pack of YS hot dog subs for use at breakfast time. Essentially they are just rolls so why not.
3) Made a PAD to the business card for £4. Have paid off £30 that way in only a few days.
4) Added some chicken bones to the freezer collection. Yes I am the bone collector:rotfl: make stock again when there is enough.
5) Cycled all journies. Confused the chemist when I stopped in for gaviscon due to the shocking indigestion I've got. She went through all the options and then said how long had I been suffering? to which I said only in the late 2nd trimester early 3rd and she did a double take, clocked the bump and was all like, oh!!! :rotfl:
6) Uploaded 2 reciepts to COS. I see they've restarted the clock on the 10 occasions you can claim. Should hit the payout very soon.
7) Bit of a blooper but I forgot to cancel the DD into the EF so that's gone up again today. I will make sure it gets sorted for next month.
8) Think there is a couple of quid in my tips jar but didn't get chance to check.
9) Did a quick banking session just checking on everything as mortgage had gone out today.
10) Packed son's lunch for sports camp in the morning to avoid a rush.
Hoping tonight will be a better night as was up feeling sick around 3am last night. Goodness knows what that was all about. Today has been a bit of a wash out as been very tired.
Night all.

Evening all

Not much moneysaving going on here, as we took our 12 year old grand daughter to the zoo today. Still, we kept it as cheap as possible by taking our own picnic food and water (I never think cafes in zoos are very nice in any case, and this one did smell rather of nasty chips
) So apart from the entrance fee, only spends were an ice cream each for OH and GD and a coffee for me - and a ride on the zoo train
Good fun was had by all
Apart from that:
Picked a load of French beans which I must freeze tomorrow
Picked the first few outdoor tomatoes :T
Picked a courgette that had ambitions to aim for greater things
Watered veg and fruit in pots
Made supper when we got back instead of getting a takeaway, which was tempting because I was tired and GD has a limited set of 'likes'
Not deviated too much from diet
Hope you are OK FVD, take care xx
Hope you have a better night's sleep tonight Bob
Goodnight all
