Petrol mowers, and best places to buy them??

Options
Hi guys,

hopefully we should soon have a new house, that has, in our eyes, a mahoosive garden, that is mainly lawn - or jungle at the mo.

Petrol mower appears to be the way to go, so just wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to either the make, and or shop it is worth visiting?

We've seen reconditioned ones on ebay, and also 2nd hand ones on various adtrader type sites.

Would appreciate other peoples experiences and recommendations.

Many thanks in advance

Dan

Well it's coming up to the end of the season so hopefully some places will start selling them off cheap soon
It all depends on how much you have to spend, and whether you want something good to last many years or just a cheapie

All your B&Q type places will have "cheapies" for like £100-£150.
A local garden machinery centre will have decent makes and would probably do you a good deal if you're helping clear their unsold stock;)
Or you could go the 2nd hand route but make sure you get a good make like honda and give it a good look over. Also watch out as a lot of power tools etc are stolen and you don't want to be funding a crook:mad:

Thanks for the tips, have found a few freebies on the freecycle sights, and have noticed a fair few on ebay.

Any other recommendations apart from honda to keep an eye out for?

That's the only name I have noticed I am familiar with in the, until now, mysterious world of petrol mowers.

lawn king is one I saw, never heard of it though, so if anyone has any recommendations of decent mowers that aren't Honda, that would be great - I'm guessing I'll pay a premium for the Honda name.

    many thanks
