New build flat postcode not recognised

Hi, i've found this forum very useful for some months now but have finally registered because i cant find the answer to this anywhere online! I move in to a new build flat next week and my postcode appears on the voa's website for council tax banding, but when i search for my postcode on google maps, or any insurance/utility bill/broadband website it says that the postcode does not exist.
Is this just because the flat is brand new? How long before it will be recognised, i think the buildings were only completed a month or two ago, only 1 person lives in them up to now.
Im really worried i'll not be able to get broadband or insurance so any advise would be much appreciated! I'll be taking over the gas electric and water from the landlord so they obviously got it on somehow. Thanks

Hi, my son had the same problem one way we got round it was when we were searching online for insurance we found that some of the flat numbers did register but his didnt. So we would have to start the search with number 21 and the postcode and when it found this on the next part correct the number to 25. The worst one to sort out was the TV licence. You may find telephoning/speaking in person to people is the only way to do things and explain the situation is the best way to do things for the next couple of months.0

He hasn't got either not in his budget yet, if you find you are having probs is there still a sales office at the site or have you got a number for after sales service get a name and pester somone to help you sort it out, if you are having problems maybe your new neighbours have a soloution or can add to the pester power with the after sales team. Best of luck and enjoy your new home.0

Thank you very much i appreciate it. Hopefully we will get it sorted as me and my flatmate both need internet access for work! It's just about in our budget, although as 23 year olds with student loan debt, renting is the only possible way! At least renting prices are still somewhat reasonable in the north east0

There's also a section on the Royal Mail website that you can fill in a form if your postcode doesn't show on the database for a new house and they say that they'll rectify it.
Here's a link:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/postcodefinder?catId=400145
Go to the Need Help section at the bottom of the page.
Haven't tried it myself, but hopefully it will work for you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Royal mail got my new build flat added to their database the next day. However it seems other parts of their site use a different, older database as I can't set up redirection!0

As already suggested you will need to register your address with Royal mail, It can sometimes take over a year to be registed on insureance websites etc as they will need to update their databases from royalmail0
