When you buy a new laptop (no specific brand) preloaded with windows OS, should you be given the windows product key. A friend bought a new laptop and she wasn't given it. Is there a way she can find out what it is

If it's windows 8 the key is normally embedded in the BIOS.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0

magic jellybean https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ will give you your key.
a lot of newer machine have there bios or similar registered with Microsoft , so providing you install a qualifying version of a Microsoft product , no key will be needed0 -
