Unlikely pay rise

You're in danger of now becoming a grumbling, bitter employee that is known for empty threats.
They haven't got the budget - they're not going to pay you more.
You have a choice - accept it or move jobs.
Making a nuisance of yourself will only serve to annoy the people who will be writing your reference or who will be making future budgeting decisions.
Outside the box idea - are there other benefits that you could ask for that could be accommodated? Extra annual leave, time ring-fenced for training, flexible working etc?:hello:0 -
There are some exams that I would like to take (the total cost would be £500). I was thinking about asking my employer if they would forfeit the two year rule i.e. if I leave within two years then I am expected to pay part or all of the cost plus the admin fee. Is this wise?
I believe the following supports my case:
1) I have been there for nearly seven years and I am valued.
2) I was offered the courses 2.5 years ago, however I have not had time to complete them because of pressure i.e. I work a lot from home.
Is it a bad idea to ask for this?0
