Switch Bonus T&Cs

I was thinking of switching our Joint Account with Natwest to Clydesdale Current Account (Not joint). Is this possible to switch from Joint Acc to Individual Acc? - I want to make sure I get the £150 bonus
My wife doesn't use the Natwest acc and is happy for it be switched.
I had a look at the T&Cs below but can't see anything relating to this scenario.

You can only switch a joint to another joint account, not to a sole one.0

Thanks for that. I wonder why thats not stipulated in the T&C's?0
-
It's because the stipulation is enshrined within the rules of the Current Account Switching Service rather than being specifically associated with individual switching offers or the relevant accounts.FrankRizzo wrote: »Thanks for that. I wonder why thats not stipulated in the T&C's?0 -
Either make the new A/c joint, or get wife to remove her name from joint A/c, then switch.FrankRizzo wrote: »Thanks for that. I wonder why thats not stipulated in the T&C's?
That's what Halifax told me when I switched just a few weeks ago. I made the new one joint too.0 -

If by this you mean she is happy for the joint account to become your sole account, why don't you both simply ask Natwest to convert your joint account into a sole account in your name, then switch that?

Thanks for the advice.
One more thing when you do the switch does the old bank acc get closed down as part of the process?0 -
In a word, yes - to get the bonus you need to invoke the Current Account Switching Service now used as standard throughout the banking industry and this process does indeed close the old account, non-negotiably!FrankRizzo wrote: »One more thing when you do the switch does the old bank acc get closed down as part of the process?0
