Hi,
I was just wondering what income you include on credit card applications?
Is it just your basic salary? or can you include income from other sources such as child benefit, tax credits, maintenance, income from lodgers etc?
Thanks

If it said 'income' I'd probably include it all...or everything that was in my own name. Sometimes they ask for 'household income'
If it said 'salary' or 'annual pay' or whatever I wouldn't include other things.Grateful to finally be debt free!0 -
Most banks have their own definition. Its generally guaranteed income that is paid to you directly. Salary, long term lodgers etc should all count. Discretionary bonuses, student loans etc generally dont.
Child benefit is a bit of an odd one but think most count it as income.
Ultimately, if concerned, ask the company in question for their definition.0 -
On a recent mbna cc application I gave them my last year p60 number. They queried it but we're much happier with my (lower) base salary numbrr when I rang them.0

Some credit card applications will ask you for your personal income and then HH income. Vergin Credit cards asks for HH income but then also says HH income is counted when you have joint bank accounts.
M&S also asks for HH income but be careful because if you provide your partners details as additional cardholder. They will credit check 2nd cardholder at the same and also financial link your records.0
