Hello Experts
I'm wanting to get a new bathroom fitted soonish so I was hoping someone could give me a rough idea of what I should be paying? I'm in West Yorkshire.
The work I (think I) want doing is:
switch the bathroom suite over (bath, sink, toilet) - I'm not moving pipes but the ones that are there now are many years old if that makes a difference.
Make the walls good (every wall in this house is wonky  ) and tile the 4 walls and floor (8ft x 8ft)
Fit a new shower
Possibly a new extractor fan
Its not very detailed I know but I havent had a new bathroom fitted before
I would be supplying all the materials, tiles, bathroom suite, shower etc.
TIA

Your bathroom is a bit bigger than ours.
Walls - unless really very wonky, don';t bother making good, but buy wonky tiles - that's bumpy tiles.

Find someone else who wants a bathroom
and buy from MFI. Every item will be marginally damaged. Ask for replacements. They won't bother collecting the damaged stuff, and the damage can be VERY small! That's two bathroom suites for the price of one!0 -
I've just had a bathroom done, and i'm on W Yorks border.
£2600 for :
Replacement of existing fixtures with built in bath, sink, toilet
Tiles and tiling of room, including floor
Ceiling lights on a dimmer and additional wiring
Small shower screen, curtain and rail
New electric shower
Bathroom is tiny - about 2m x 1.8m
Dearest quote I had was £5200 for the same job.0 -
I've recently had mine done in Lincoln...
they replaced the bath sink and toilet (I bought a new suite in the sale from BandQ) they had to change the coupling of the soil pipe (old pipes) - plumb the bath taps on the other end of the bath from where they were originally (a D shaped shower bath) but keeping the same basic layout. They changed the boxing in of the pipework as the toilet had moved back about 6 inches.... they tiled walls and floor of a simillar sized bathroom (but I supplied the tiles)
the whole job I seem to remember cost £1080. Oh, AND they supplied and fitted a chrome towel rail style radiator. All I had to pay extra for was a skip £80.
the plumber did say though that if he'd known the tiles I bought were glass mosaics he'd have charged me more as they were a bit of a pig to fit, the glass tiles look the nuts though, very boutique hotel.... got them from www.mosaictraderuk.co.uk - about £15 a square metre for what B and Q etc want £40 ish for !!0 -
Just having my bathroom done .New bath, toilet and shower. walls tiled top to bottom and floor tiled .New lights.
Cost for everything ....... £1200 ! my husband is doing it all .
Lucky as i have another bathroom in house that wants doing as well .
I found the price of a shower unit crazy as it was more expensive than the whole bathroom suite !0
